Founded in the 1960s by ‘Krishi Pandit’ Dr. Narayanbhai Chawda, a progressive farmer who completed his degree from Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Allahabad. He pioneered scientific hybrid seed development in India. Later, with the inclusion of his son, Vimal Chawda, the organization transformed into a highly professional corporate entity. The company operates strictly under the guiding principle “In the interest of farmers,” aiming to provide the best-in-class planting material and seed technology to the farming community.

Research & Infrastructure (R&D)

The company conducts extensive research and multi-location trials across more than 30 distinct geographical locations in India. It is equipped with state-of-the-art biotechnology laboratories, green houses, net houses, and high-tech cold storage facilities. Their vast portfolio spans more than 25 different crop segments with over 300 hybrids and commercial products available in the market. Notably, 6 of their hybrid products have been officially recognized/notified by the Government of India.

Product Portfolio

The company is prominently engaged in the research, development, and production of high-yielding seeds for Cereal Crops, Vegetable Crops, and Fruit Crops.

Sales & Marketing Network

Operates on a highly organized 5-tier distribution model that channels products from C&F/Branches down to Distributors, Retailers, and Tertiary Networks, reaching directly to the farmers. It is powered by a strong team of over 300 trained sales professionals, supported by more than 1,100 direct business partners and an expansive network of over 50,000 retailers across India. VNR Seeds organizes large-scale crop exhibitions, most notably ‘Chayan’ (a Bi-Annual Crop Show displaying over 300 crop varieties), Mega-Crop Shows, and annual Regional Business Partner Meets to foster strong partnerships.
