📝 About the Position

The Master Trainer will lead field-level training, mentoring and handholding support for women engaged in art and craft-based livelihoods. The role will focus on strengthening technical, enterprise, financial and market readiness capacities of women artisans, SHGs, producer groups, collectives and clusters. The trainer will work closely with FWWB, partner organizations and community institutions to ensure high-quality delivery, regular follow-up and documentation across the assigned state.

âš™ī¸ Key Responsibilities

  • 1. Training and Capacity Building
    • Training Delivery: Conduct structured training on entrepreneurship, costing, pricing, quality, productivity, financial literacy, digital literacy and market readiness for women artisans and entrepreneurs.
    • Craft Livelihood Support: Customize sessions for art and craft-based livelihoods, including product improvement, production planning, quality standards and customer-oriented design inputs.
    • Training Material: Develop, adapt and translate training modules, tools and IEC materials based on local language, enterprise type and participant needs.
    • Mentoring: Provide individual and group-based handholding to improve business practices and enterprise sustainability.
  • 2. Field Implementation and Community Support
    • Field Coordination: Work with grassroots partners, community cadres and project teams to plan, mobilize and execute training sessions in the assigned state.
    • Needs Assessment: Conduct field visits and assessments to identify skill gaps, enterprise constraints and opportunities for artisan groups and collectives.
    • Follow-up Support: Track participant progress through periodic field visits, mentoring calls and review meetings.
  • 3. Collectives, Cluster Development and Market Linkages
    • Collective Strengthening: Support SHGs, producer groups, craft-based collectives and clusters in improving governance, production systems and member participation.
    • Market Linkages: Facilitate linkages with local markets, exhibitions, buyers, e-commerce channels, government schemes and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Partnership Support: Coordinate with NGOs, government departments, design institutions, financial institutions and market actors for convergence and sustainability.
  • 4. Monitoring, Documentation and Reporting
    • Monitoring: Maintain training calendars, attendance records, pre-post assessments, feedback forms and participant progress trackers.
    • Documentation: Prepare training reports, field notes, case stories, photographs and learning documentation as per project requirements.
    • Reporting: Submit timely monthly progress updates to the Program Manager and support donor/project reporting as required.
  • 5. Additional Responsibilities
    • Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality training delivery, participant engagement and practical learning outcomes.
    • Need-based Support: Support project reviews, stakeholder meetings, exposure visits and other tasks assigned by FWWB.

đŸŽ¯ Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of art and craft-based livelihoods, women-led micro-enterprises and community-based enterprise promotion.
  • Experience in training, mentoring and capacity building of women artisans, SHGs, producer groups or collectives.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have worked with craft-based collectives, artisan clusters or cluster development programs.
  • Knowledge of costing, pricing, basic bookkeeping, digital tools, quality control, market linkages and enterprise planning.
  • Good documentation, reporting and MS Office skills.

đŸ—Ŗī¸ Language and Travel Requirements

  • Proficiency in the local language of the respective state is required. Working knowledge of Hindi and/or English will be an advantage.
  • For Gujarat, Gujarati is preferred. For Rajasthan, Hindi and/or Rajasthani dialects are preferred. For Meghalaya, Khasi, Garo or other relevant local languages are preferred. For Tamil Nadu, Tamil is required.
  • The role requires extensive travel to field locations, villages, craft clusters, partner offices and stakeholder meetings within the assigned state.
