- Citizenship: Candidate must be an Indian citizen, or possess the nationality prescribed under Rule 7 of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
- Gender: Only male candidates are eligible; women cannot apply for this cadre.
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess any one of the following from a government-recognized educational institution:
- Minimum 1-year Multi-Purpose Health Worker basic course, or a certificate/diploma course; OR
- Minimum 1-year Diploma Course in Sanitary Inspector; OR
- Minimum 1-year Health Sanitary Inspector course from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or another government-recognized institution.
